I finished my degree in Interior Design earlier this year, which means I have enough time to finally revive my blog. That’s why my site is under construction because I adopted a new design and I’m still rewriting some posts from my archive.
Going through the my old posts, I saw one that I wrote a month after I finished my Architecture degree, when I was already living in a city hundreds of kilometers away from home, ready to take another degree – Interior Design.
You see, Interior Design was my first choice for college but I enrolled in Architecture. I enjoyed the five years I was studying architecture but after I graduated, I still wanted to take up Interior Design. My parents were okay with it but there was one problem: I would be studying in Metro Manila, that’s a 2-hour flight away from my hometown. I had to give up a lot to pursue my dream course and it wasn’t an easy decision, but I went on with it, and now I have finally graduated.
Here’s an excerpt of that post:
I just finished BS-Architecture last March 2013 in a prestigious school in Davao City. Back home, I practically have three rooms – one for clothes, another for drafting, and the third room’s where I sleep. I drive my own car, I have my teammates, I sort of have everything. … However, I have to give up all these for one thing – to chase my dream. … I know this is going to be tough, but I’d make it worth all the struggles. I will succeed. I have to.
Reading this, I feel so proud because I sounded like I wasn’t sure about anything; I was just so afraid. Now, 4 years after, I’ve done what I came here to do, and I can honestly say that I did it well. As they say, if you want it bad enough, you’ won’t mind working for it, and eventually, you’ll have it.
If you’d rather read the original post, it’s still here.
