Surigao del Sur is a province in Mindanao. It’s a 4-5-hour drive from Davao City’s Fransisco Bangoy International Airport.
A few years back, I went there with my family and we visited Tinuy-an Falls, Hinatuan Enchanted River, and Britannia Group of Islands.
The Britania Group of Islands in Brgy. San Agustin is composed of 24 islets. However, during our visit, we just went to some of them, and forgive me because I forgot their names.
There are boats parked at Hinatuan Enchanted River that offer island hopping packages to Britania, which is really convenient because you just need to follow the stilt bridge along the river until you see the boats.
The Philippines is famous for its beaches. Although Britania is not on everyone’s tip-of-the-tongue beach suggestions, it should be known that it is as wonderful. I’m from the Mindanao and I didn’t even expect to find something like this within our shores.
However, no matter how beautiful the beach is, you should still be careful when swimming because in one of the islands, my sister got stung by a jellyfish and it really burned her legs. She had scars that looked like veins. I’m not saying you shouldn’t go at all, because it’s a really wonderful sight. Just be cautious when swimming.
I can’t name the islands that we visited, but according to the photos, one is Hagonoy Island and another is Likid Island. Discover it yourself and get back to me, tell me what these islands are called.
